You guard him with peace, because he trusts in you (Isaiah 26:3)
Few things in the world that have fallen into this sin can be called perfect. However, God has promised to keep us in perfect peace if we always direct our hearts to Him and believe in Him (Isaiah 26:3).
Then, why is it so hard for us to trust Him? Often this happens because we worry that things won't go the way we want if we don't control ourselves. The less control we have, the more anxious and worried we will feel.
Writer Hannah Whitall Smith put it this way, “It is not difficult for us to trust God to control the universe and all that exists. Is it possible that your problem is so much more complicated and difficult than all of this, that you need to feel anxious or confused about His care for you?”
We often think our situation is too difficult for God. If we can't get things done on our own, we doubt His ability. We do have Christian beliefs, but that is not the same as believing in God. Believing in God is a personal response that grows out of our Christian faith and is expressed through our increased trust in Him and His promises.
If our heart stays in Him, then He will take care of us with peace. This has been experienced by many believers, and you can experience it too --Joanie Yoder
