I advise you, that you present your body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God: that is your true worship (Romans 12:1)
In Romans 12:1, the Apostle Paul applied the truth he had written to Jesus' followers in Rome. He told us to present our bodies as living sacrifices. He also urges us to keep our bodies away from sin and avoid the ugliness of the world by renewing our minds (verse 2).
We have often been told to give our heart or life to Christ. So, why is Paul highlighting our bodies this time?
If we are going to do God's will, it is our body that will be used. Every pastor has had members say, “I'm not going to church next Sunday; we're going to go on a picnic to the lake. However, I will be present in spirit.” Unfortunately, the "spirit" he refers to will contribute nothing to the atmosphere of praise and worship.
We also offer our bodies to God as a response to His love. The body is a gift worthy of God.
Reflect on the value of the human hand. Surgeon Dr. Paul Brand said of hand surgery, “I have never heard of one operation being done to make a normal hand better. Those hands are beautiful.”
This Christmas, give God something beautiful. Surrender to Him not only your heart, but also your hands, body, soul, mind-your entire being! - HWR
JESUS GIVES US EVERYTHING HE HAS
WE MUST GIVE EVERYTHING WE HAVE TO HIM
