The city does not need the sun and the moon to shine on it, because the glory of God illuminates it (Revelation 21:23)
Once upon a time, the University of Colorado's Fiske Planetarium needed funds, so the director devised a hilarious fundraising ploy. He printed brochures offering four million square meters of land on Mars for just 20 dollars.
The brochure read: "This land has pink skies, countless rock gardens, and not one but two moons. So peaceful, quiet and romantic--even the locals are so friendly." The brochure promised, "With a gravity of only one-sixth of Earth's, your game of golf will be immensely exciting -- because the ball travels six times slower. Mars provides adventure for the whole family." And surprisingly, this bragging turned out to be successful. People from all over the country sent $20 for deed of title, for spaceflight insurance, and for samples of red Martian soil.
If this story has touched your imagination, then think about our last land, namely heaven. As an expression of His love, God promised the land to those who trust Jesus as their Savior. This is the true place and God Himself will truly live with His people. There will be no more tears, pain, or death, and the inhabitants will rejoice forever in God's eternal goodness (Revelation 21:4).
How happy we are to know that God's free offer of a home in heaven is not just an advertising gimmick! It may sound too good to be true, but it really isn't. Just too good to pass up [MRDII]
