RAGE MEDICINE

Jesus answered: "If I will, that he remain alive until I come, that is none of your business. But you: follow me" (John 21:22)

We might immediately agree with the statement that "all humans are created equal." However, it doesn't take us long to realize that life treats some people better than others. We must learn to accept this without feeling angry.

The injustice of life can be seen in many aspects of life. Cancer eats away at the body of a small child, while smokers and heavy drinkers live to old age. Some people enjoy good health, while others do not. Some people have no physical disabilities, but others have severe disabilities. Some people work hard but live in poverty, while others are born rich or always seem to get all kinds of opportunities.

When Jesus told the Apostle Peter that he would be martyred for fighting for his faith, Peter then asked what would happen to John. He seemed to think that it would be unfair that John did not die the same way. However, Jesus told Peter that what would happen to John was none of Peter's business. It was God's decision. Peter's only responsibility was to follow Christ.

When seeing others make you angry at the unfairness of this life, change your focus. Look to Jesus and follow Him. The injustice of life is only temporary. Perfect justice we will enjoy forever in heaven --Herb Vander Lugt
