So that we live wisely, justly and worshipfully in this world by looking forward to the fulfillment of our happy hopes (Titus 2:12-13)
An unknown author wrote, "When I first became a Christian and a few years after that, the second coming of Christ was a thrilling thing, a happy hope, a glorious promise, the theme of many church songs that evoke spirit."
"Furthermore it became an accepted principle of faith, a central doctrine, a kind of invisible mark of my ministry. It became an arena of discussion that I enjoyed on the pulpit and in writing. At this moment, it suddenly became even more profound for me. Paul calls it 'our happy hope.' But now it manifests as the world's only hope.
From a human point of view, there is no solution to the problems that exist in this world. The world's leaders seem to be experiencing severe frustration in trying to control the unrelenting, if not escalating, crime in society. The only perfect and eternal solution is in the return of Christ. When He comes, He will establish His kingdom. He will rule the nations in righteousness and "the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea" (Habakkuk 2:14)
As we await the return of our Savior, let us continue to pray, work and watch "waiting for the fulfillment of our joyful hope" -- RWD
WHILE THIS WORLD BECOME DARKER THE PROMISE OF THE CHILD COMING IS BRIGHTER
