GOOD MIND

Whatever is called virtue and is worthy of praise, think about these things (Philippians 4:8)

According to one boy, “Thinking is when our mouth is silent and our head speaks for itself.”

When our heads speak for themselves, that's when they reveal how we act morally and spiritually. To fortify our minds and block the entry of influences that can hinder our walk with God, we must use our minds according to His will.

The Bible gives us clear guidance on this matter by mentioning the good things we should think about. For example, Psalm 1:2 and Psalm 119:97 command us to meditate on God's word day and night. That should be the top priority in our minds.

But we also have to live life, and we cannot possibly spend all our time meditating on the Scriptures. However, we also need guidance, especially when it comes to the mundane aspects of our lives. Paul asks us to think about all that is true, noble, just, holy, sweet, pleasing to the eye, which is called virtue and is worthy of praise (Philippians 4:8). In carrying out all our daily activities, these things should control our minds.

When our head “speaks for itself”, our mind should say, “Don't put in any dirty and unkind thoughts!” When we think like that, we'll know what to do, how to act, where to go, and what to say --Dave Branon
