FROGS AND FROGS

As a garden grows a seed sown, so the Lord GOD will plant righteousness (Isaiah 61:11)

One of my favorite children's books is Arnold Lobel's Frog and Toad Together. Toads have gardens that are admired by Frogs, so that Frogs want to have them too. Then the Frog said to him, "It is a beautiful garden, but you have to work hard." When the frog gave some flower seeds to the frogs, the frogs immediately went home and planted them.

"Come on seeds," said the Frog, "grow now." He tried hard to make his garden flower. He shouted at the seeds, read long stories, and sang songs, but the seeds did not grow.

"What should I do?" shouted the Frog. "Leave the seeds alone," said the Frog. "Let the sun shine on it, and the rain will fall on it. Later your seeds will start to sprout." Then one day, little green plants appeared. "Finally," cried the Frog, "my seeds are no longer afraid to sprout! You are right, Frog. It is very hard work."

Many people think that it is very difficult to grow in the truth. We must make time to read the word of God, pray, and grow our faith by being with other believers. However, our progress in holiness still depends on God. As He shines His face upon us and pours out His love into our lives, we will grow. Then the truth will begin to grow (Isaiah 61:11). Don’t give up when the growth is slow. Soon you will have a -DHR garden
