THE ONLY ONE

The eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers (1 Peter 3:12)

As a teacher with years of teaching experience in high school and college, I have noticed many different types of students. One of them is those whom I call have concern only me and the teacher. This student establishes a face-to-face conversation with the teacher as if there is no one else in the class anymore. Rhetorical teacher questions, for example, will be answered verbally by this student, regardless of other people's reactions. Even though there were other students in the class, this one student seemed to think that it was only me and the teacher.

Recently, when I noticed one such student and saw him controlling the teacher's attention, I came to think that God must have wanted to show something through this incident. The disciple has a focus that all of us need to have when we pray.

The thought that there are millions of other Christians talking to God while we pray, need not make us feel less important before God. No, when we speak to God the Present, the All-Knowing, the Almighty, we can feel confident that He is giving His full attention. David said, This oppressed man cries out, and the Lord hears (Psalm 34: 7). God always directs His sole attention to our praises, supplications, and concerns.

When you pray, to Him you are the only person He listens to -JDB

ALTHOUGH MILLIONS OF PEOPLE
ARE ASKING GOD'S ATTENTION IN PRAYER
HE HEARS THEM ONE BY ONE
