TESTIMONY OF LAMB

Let us love not in word or tongue, but in deed and in truth (1John 3:18)

Have you ever heard people testify using lamb? WH Lax, a Methodist minister who has served for 38 years in London, did just that.

Once the priest Lax visited an old man who was terminally ill. The man did not greet priest Lax in a friendly manner. When he saw Lax's clerical robes, he immediately looked away and didn't want to speak.

Lax guessed the man's food supply was running low. So when Lax came home, he stopped by the butcher shop and ordered two pieces of lamb for the old man. A few days later, he visited again and found a friendlier demeanor from the man. On the way home, Lax ordered lamb again at the same shop. On his third visit, he noticed many changes. The man became more sympathetic and friendly, even allowing Lax to testify about his faith.

While Lax was out preaching, the man died. The man seemed to have believed in Christ, because before he breathed his last, he had said, "Tell the pastor that I have changed now. I will go before God. And tell him, it is not his words that have changed me, but the lamb." !"

Meeting the needs of others can be a good opportunity to share the gospel. By doing so you will be able to melt the hardest of hearts and open doors that have been locked for so long. Do you know someone who needs "lamb" today? -- HWR

OFTEN THE BEST TESTIMONY IS KINDNESS
