SOWING AND HARVESTING

He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully (2Cor. 9: 6)

On my father’s farm there are several plots of land sown with seeds directly. Dad would bring a container similar to a kangaroo bag, fill it with seeds, and go out to sprinkle it. It sows seeds everywhere.

When a farmer sows seed in his field, it is as if he throws it away. The seed seems to be gone, but it's not really gone. In time he would get it back—with more to add.

When we surrender to Christ, we seem to be wasting our lives. However, He said that if we lose our lives for His sake, we will gain true life (Matthew 10:39).

Jesus taught us to measure life by loss rather than gain, by sacrifice rather than enjoyment for ourselves, by spending time with others rather than by ourselves, by sowing love instead of enjoying love.

This is the rule of life: God blesses those who give their lives and their possessions (2Cor. 9: 6). Tell the truth you know, and He will give you more to share. Give your time, then you will get more time to give. Do not limit your love, then you will gain more love for others than before.

An Israelite sage said, “There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth” (Proverbs 11:24). This is one of the ancient paradoxes in this world, but it really happens -DHR

IF YOU GET SOMETHING, YOU WILL LOSE
WHEN YOU GIVE TO GOD, THEN YOU WILL GET A LOT
