although our outer man is deteriorating, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day (2Corinthians 4:16)
The Sunday afternoon service was an ordinary service. The congregation sits spread over 500 seats in the building. During the testimony event, several people took turns sharing their experiences and telling God's deeds in their lives.
Then, Buddy stood up and spoke. He is very grateful to be present at church. When he said that although he did not have a bicycle but he was happy to have traveled many kilometers to the church on foot, how shocked everyone who heard. On Sunday nights like that, when many people are looking for excuses not to go to church, Buddy tries to get there the hard way, step by step, because he is blind.
We can learn a lot from him. It has to fight to do something that we can do easily, but even we often neglect. He probably understands better than those of us who do not suffer from physical defects about the deteriorating external man (2Corinthians 4:16), so he works hard to "feed" his inner man through fellowship with believers in the church. He knew what the Apostle Paul knew: Only by fully relying on God can we be successful in our Christian life.
Buddy didn't lose his temper even though he had to walk to church blind. Let his example help us not to let things that concern our outer people stop our inner person from growing -- JDB
