Before becoming a bold opponent of communist oppression, Milovan Djilas was one of the most popular members of the Marxist group in Yugoslavia. When he was imprisoned for 20 years for his anti-government actions, he had done the dirty work of smuggling leaflets of his communist party through the prison sewers. He didn't mind doing the job because, as he said, "nothing is dirty, despicable and meaningless."
If a communist member who doesn't believe in God alone wants to do such a thing, we who serve God, who have a much more noble goal, should have an attitude beyond that. Pure motivation will encourage us to be willing to carry out any work in a holy mission of service. Christ, through the washing of the feet of His disciples, has set an example for us to follow (John 13:1-38).
God's works must be revealed throughout the world, and this can also be done through the various roles that exist in society. There are people who have to become garbage collectors, work in the fields to produce food or work as laborers in factories that make certain goods. Since all these works also complement each other and sustain life in the world, we should rejoice in all such works.
If we follow Christ's example, and are willing to do everything for the glory of God, even ordinary work will be valuable -- VCG
ANY DEFINITE WORK IF FOR GOD IS A NOBLE CALL
