TALENT SEARCH

 Then I heard God's voice saying: "Whom shall I send, and who will go for Me?" (Isaiah 6:8)

Television shows like American Idol have become a global phenomenon. Millions of viewers are waiting anxiously to find out which singer will be eliminated from the talent show as such singer.

Some people call it "a new concept in entertainment," but it's not really a new idea. When I was a kid, I watched Ted Mack's Original Amateur Hour. It was followed by the quirky talent show The Gong Show in the 1970s, followed by Star Search in the 1980s. They are all continuous television programs to find ordinary people and make them famous.

However, dreaming of becoming famous and rich is not a quest for things of eternal value. Such a search is made by God Himself. He seeks a heart ready to do His work in this world.

In the Book of Isaiah, God asks: "Whom shall I send, and who will go for Me?" And then we read Isaiah's willing response: "Here I am, send me!" (6:8).

God is not looking for the most qualified or talented; He is looking for a heart that is willing to obey Him. He seeks those who are available, reliable, and willing to be used. In their lives, God will show His power; and He will be glorified.

Are you ready for Him to use? --WEC

Be it your will, Lord! Be your will!
You are the Potter, I am the clay;
Take me and mold me according to Your will,
I will wait, surrender, and not worry. --Pollard

YOUR LIFE IS GOD'S GIFT TO YOU --  MAKE IT YOUR GIFT TO GOD
